If you want to store important data in your computer, like passwords, bank accounts, PIN numbers and also sensitive files, you should be extremely careful, as today's hackers and viruses can easily take over your machine and can access all your private and sensitive information.

Installing a firewall or anti-virus application doesn't always solve the problem, as there are hackers which are smart enough to bypass these protection systems. A much better idea is to store all the private information in a secure file or vault, in which only you will have access, after entering a password.

Using VaultMate, you can make sure that only you will have access to your sensitive data, even if several people use your computer or even if you need to send out important files through email, as attachments. A program which allows you to store all your data in a secure file is VaultMate. After installing the program and launching it, the user will first need to create a new vault file and set up a password for it. After that, he will be able to either populate the vault with sample folders or just create a blank file.

Choosing to add several folder types into the vault will allow you to store various types of data, like website passwords, PIN numbers, bank accounts, notes, application files and so on. Each of these objects can be stored in a separate folder, for making them easier and faster to access. VaultMate also includes an option for generating passwords, which allows you to make up secure passwords which can be used together with your vault file or any other service which requires entering a password.

Another useful feature is the possibility of installing VaultMate on a USB removable drive, thus allowing you to take your private information anywhere you go.

Pros

It allows you to store any kind of information and data inside a password-protected vault. Besides that, it includes a password generator which allows you to create complex passwords which are very difficult to break. Furthermore, it can be installed on any removable USB drive.

Cons

There is no recovery option in case the user forgets the master password. Using VaultMate, you can store all your sensitive and private information and files inside a secure vault, which can be accessed only by entering a password.
